Meet Nikita Bhardwaj Professional Kabbadi Player Noida U. P

Hi, I am Nikita Bhardwaj, from Noida, Uttar Pradesh and I play for India Kabaddi Sports Club. I had never thought about to go to sports field. When I was in 9th standard, my school had organised a kabaddi tournament. A kabaddi team is selected to represent our school and I was played as the “Captain” of my school team and we got the 2nd position in that tournament. I was played very in that tournament, that’s why my sports teacher encouraged me to play kabaddi. I thought about it and decided to make a career in sports field as “Kabaddi player.” But here the biggest challenge was to make my family convinced to play kabaddi I belong to a very conservative family. Being a girl I was not allowed to play kabaddi because I have to wear t shirt and shorts and this was not acceptable by my family especially my father and mother too. But I talked to my father, he was agreed and allowed me to practice kabaddi in school and one more hour after school. Then I was selected to play kabaddi tournament at state level in which our team got second position. I think this was the turning point of my life which gave my life a way to live for my dreams, for myself, and for my family. After occupied second position in state level tournament, my sports teacher convinced my father to allow me to continue kabaddi and my father was agreed on one condition that I would be allowed to continue kabaddi after completing 10th class. My father send me to Haryana how to get kabaddi skills and techniques before the 10th class result came. It was difficult to me to left my home as I never stayed alone before so I just made myself as strong as rock, I left home and got my short hair cut.
• My achievements:— 1. Participated in the first state tournament and got second position, 2. Participated in second state level tournament in Meerut in 2017, 3. Selected for National Circle Kabaddi tournament held in Chandigarh in 2017, 4. Played third state in Ballia in 2018.I also played for national. 5. In 2018, Mandal organises the tournament which was held in Gorakhpur and only my selection took place in the entire Gautam Buddh Nagar. I played Mandal tournament and got second position in that tournament. 6. I played fifth state level tournament again in balliya . 7. I also played a lot of local tournaments in my village and Haryana also. I had received the prizes of best raider five times and three times for best catcher. I would like to narrate an incident of my life. In October 2018, during giving trial for state level tournament my leg got slight injured and doctor suggested me to get rest and also took plaster on my leg. But I was selected for the same. After 6 days I had two tournament together in which I had to play so my father cut the plaster before 2 days of conducting tournament so that I could that two tournament, I played and got the second position and silver medal in one of two tournament and third position in another tournament. It was the biggest day of my life and biggest achievement as well. I would like to say that 'Every thing is possible so never give up in life. I want to say thank you for my father and sir because they support me a lot and their dream is that I’d play for India one day and I will definitely fulfil this dream. My Special thanks to my coach and my inspiration Mr. Praveen Kumar Sharma who always stand for me 🙏🙏.
