At first, I was into athletics but watching my elder brother play basketball I got attracted towards the game. I started practicing when I was 10 years old and I've been in love with the game ever since. Initially I wasn't even so good to make the team but I didn't give up,faugt hard and made the team.
When I turned 11, we were playing one of Mumbai's finest tournaments- MSSA and I received the Most Valuable Player award in our age group and I needed that encouragement very much to focus on the game I love and start my career in basketball.
There are a lot of happy moments in my career so far. But the things I look back to the most are, first, when I gained my coach's respect by receiving 'The Yellow Band'. Second is when I represented my State, Maharashtra as a Captain and led the team to a medal in the National Sub-Junior level tournament which didn't happen since the past 20 years. Third is when I got to know that I was among the Ten boys selected to represent our Nation, India in the JR.NBA Global Championship which was held in Orlando. We played the quarter-finals against Canada and I gave it all out on the court defensively and offensively but we lost the game by 2 points in overtime which was a great lesson for me as I learnt that the work I was putting in wasn't enough and I had to work much harder. The fact that I made the team would make my parents, coaches and friends proud and it really motivated me and made me give my 10000%. Because of this I was focused. Seeing them being so proud of me, it gave me fuel, it made me strong and gave me support.
My dream is to represent India in the senior level and make my family, my coaches and my friends proud. But before that I want to work hard and get into the NBA Academy in Noida. From there I want to go play in the United States and prove all of those people wrong who said that there isn't any talent in India.
I know that this path isn't going to be easy and I have to dedicate myself to this. I'm 5'9" and that's very average among teenagers so I have to work on my speed, my shooting, my defense and my leadership. Being small does not stop me from working twice as hard.
